Greg Thompson, DVM

Dr. Thompson joined SVA in the summer of 2021. Dr. Thompson says he “always thought I was going to be a professional baseball player, turns out you have to be really good at that.” Thankfully, he was able to find a career that he is passionate about and went on to put his hard work into learning veterinary medicine.

He graduated from Purdue University in 2008 with a BS in Biology and spent time living in Madison, Wisconsin doing pharmaceutical research. He then went on to attend Veterinary School at the University of Wisconsin-Madison through 2014. After graduation, he did a large animal internship in Seattle before hopping around the country practicing mixed and small animal medicine. Now having returned to the Pacific Northwest, he feels he really is home.

In his free time he takes advantage of the great Seattle recreation, enjoying camping, snowboarding, golfing, and foot golfing (yes, it’s a real thing).  He shares his home with a small collection of pets including Bettis a very tough looking AmStaff with a big heart (really, it’s a problem) who often joins him at the clinics.

Dr. Thompson introduced himself to SVA by telling us “You can call me Dr. Greg, Dr. Thompson, Greg or any other name—being the youngest of 4 boys, I have been called a lot worse! But regardless of how we address each other I am truly looking forward to caring for your pets as part of Seattle Veterinary Associates.”
